Born in 1420. He grew up in the Volga region. Kaztugan Zhirau, who came from a military aristocratic family, is a marching poet and one of the creators of folk epics. He left behind a rich creative heritage consisting of many poems describing the military spirit of the Kazakhs, their homeland, the life and lifestyle of the people. Most of them are not preserved. However, some of his works that have come down to us prove that he deserves a place in the history of literature. His poetry describes the nomadic life of warriors, their way of life, their views and thoughts about nature. Kaztugan Zhyrau's works such as "Madak Song" and "Farewell to the Native Land" can be considered among the best examples of ancient Kazakh poetry. A number of thoughts of the poet reached through folk songs were published in 1862 in I. Berezin's "Turk Chrestomatiya", in 1910 in Gabdolla Mushtaq's collection "Shayir, or the main poems of Kazakh poets", in 1970 in M. Magauin's book "Aldaspan".
