Zhumagalieva (Muratzhanova) Gulzhipa Kazykhankyzhi

Zhumagalieva (Muratzhanova) Gulzhipa Kazykhankyzhi was born on August 8, 1966, in the village of Koskol, Karatobe District, West Kazakhstan Region.

She began her education in 1973 at Krasnoyar Secondary School in the Taipeck District, and in 1983, she completed her 10th grade at Chapaev Village, Akzhaik District. In August 1983, she moved to Almaty to continue her studies.

In 1985, she became a first-year student at the Almaty Soviet Trade Technical School. In December 1986, Gulzhipa was one of the students who participated in the peaceful protests in central Almaty, which later turned into tragic events. At that time, she did not fully understand the seriousness of the situation but later became a witness to the violence directed at the youth who were protesting for their rights.

On December 16, 1986, while traveling to her college by bus, Gulzhipa saw a group of girls with slogans. Initially, she did not understand what was happening. She also noticed a familiar face—Rozana, her classmate from her home village, who was among the students. When she arrived at the technical school, she realized something serious had happened, as there was panic in the school. In the following days, she joined the protesters in central Almaty, witnessing the violence that was inflicted upon the students.

Currently, Gulzhipa Kazykhankyzhi works as a special subject teacher at the Akzhaik Agrarian and Technical College in Chapaev Village, Akzhaik District, with 34 years of teaching experience.
