Imangaliyev Azamat Ermekovich was born on March 12, 1961, in the village of Baranovka (now Samal), Akzhaik district. He completed his primary education in Baranovka and secondary education in Budarin, after which he worked at the collective farm named after Chuykov. In 1979, he was drafted into the Soviet Army, serving first in Hungary and then in Afghanistan, fulfilling his military and civil duty. After sustaining a serious injury, he underwent treatment and, upon recovery, returned to the army to continue his internationalist service in Afghanistan.

He returned home to his village in 1981 and has been working there ever since. Currently, he works as a plumber in the gas industry. Today, the Afghan war veteran lives in the village of Samal (formerly Baranovka).
